About Vancouver Cycling Without Age Society
Founded in 2018, VCWAS is a registered charity and volunteer-powered organization that takes seniors and their friends and family for recreational bike rides on trishaws (three-wheeled bicycles). We predominantly serve seniors between the ages of 70-100 who live in long-term care homes, experience social isolation, and face barriers to getting outside. Our passengers experience the joy and health benefits of a slow ride around the streets, parks, and bike lanes of Vancouver, engaging in conversations and storytelling, seeing old sights, building relationships, and feeling the wind in their hair again.
We operate six trishaws (five are Triobikes and one is a Van Raam). We take passengers on the bike lanes, streets and into parks across the City of Vancouver, from False Creek, the Arbutus Greenway, Point Grey and Jericho Beach, to the West End, Stanley Park, Riley Park-Little Mountain, and Pacific Spirit Park.
500 rides, 1,000 passengers, and 3,500kms pedalled…read more about our impact in 2024!
How You Can Help

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our organization and there are many ways for you to get involved. Train to be a trishaw rider (we call them Pilots), or offer your own expertise! We’d love to have you join our team! Our new Volunteer Interest form will be posted in May 2025!
