Cumberland

Who We Are

Inspired by the global movement started in 2012 in Copenhagen, Denmark that aims to provide joy and wellness through the magic of sharing a bicycle ride.

Cycling Without Age Cumberland is guided by the principles of generosity, slowness, storytelling, relationships and without age. We connect seniors and individuals with mobility limitations through shared bike rides, fostering community, social inclusion and active aging.

What We Do

We offer free community rides on a pedal assisted trishaw bike generously donated through IODE BC. Join us for a slow bike ride around the Village, along a forested path, or a quiet alleyway, in the fresh air and sunshine. Enjoy the sights, sounds and natural surroundings of our Village. Bring along a friend, partner, loved one or caregiver.

Why

Our goal is to promote social connection and wellness through the simple act of a bike ride and to share in the freedom, joy and continued mobility of cycling.

How

Our trishaw, a Triobike Taxi, is fully accessible and everyone is welcome, family, friends, partners, caregivers.

A trained volunteer ‘Pilot’ pedals in the back and 1-2 passengers ride in the front. The time spent between Pilots and passengers is one of storytelling, connections, fresh air and access to nature.

When

Ride season is generally from May through October. We are currently operating through  Cumberland Parks and Recreation.
